Why it fits a school

Common jobs

Certificates and awards

Convert the award certificate to Word, change the names and print. Or make a PDF of the finished set to print in one go.

Newsletters to parents

Turn the .pub into a PDF for e-mail or the website. Text stays real text, so parents can search it and copy dates out of it.

The shared drive clear-out

Choose a whole folder and convert everything to PDF. The ZIP keeps the folder structure, and a spreadsheet (CSV) lists every file with its pages and anything to check, which is handy as an inventory.

Licences

PDF and PNG conversion is free for up to 20 files at a time. The Organisation licence (€69 / $69, paid once, no subscription) covers all staff of one school: any number of files at once, whole folders, and Word files. Payment, receipts and VAT are handled by our payment provider.

For IT and data protection leads: the page loads only from this site, has no third-party scripts, ads or trackers, and its security settings block it from sending data anywhere except one address: when someone enters a licence key, that key (and nothing else) is checked with our payment provider. You can check this yourself: once the page says “Ready to work offline”, switch the network off and convert a file.

Questions

Is it safe for files with pupils’ names?

Files are converted on the device and never uploaded, so their contents are not shared with us or anyone else. As always, follow your school’s own data protection rules for where you save the results.

Does one licence cover the whole school?

Yes. The Organisation licence covers all staff of one school. Each person enters the key once in their browser.

Can pupils use it?

Yes, the free version needs no account and no e-mail address, so pupils can use it without signing up for anything.

Does it work on our Chromebooks?

Yes, in Chrome. See opening .pub files on a Chromebook for the steps.

How good is the conversion?

Most files come out looking like the original, and each file says plainly if something needs checking. We publish our test method and scores, including what we still get wrong.
