Open your .pub files as PDFs

How it works

1. Add your files. Drop them on the box above or press “Choose files”. You’ll see a small preview straight away.
2. Wait a moment. Each file is converted on your own computer, usually in a second or two.
3. Download. Save each PDF, or all of them at once in a ZIP file. A folder keeps its subfolders in the ZIP, and the ZIP holds a report (CSV) that lists every file, its pages and anything to check.

What to expect

• Text stays real text: you can search and copy it in the PDF.
• Fonts that we’re not allowed to include are replaced with look-alikes. We tell you when that happens.
• Each file tells you in plain words what we know didn’t come through, and which pages to check. Some things are still missed, so give important files a quick look. See how we test and compare with LibreOffice.
• Works best with files from Publisher 2002 and later. Files from Publisher 2000 and older are less tested: some styles and pictures may be missing, and a few won’t open.
• The pictures next to your files are the small previews saved inside the .pub files, not the PDFs we make.
• This page talks to one outside address only: if you enter a licence key, that key (nothing else, never your files or file names) is sent to Polar, our payment provider, at api.polar.sh, to check it. The browser enforces this: the page’s security policy blocks every other address.
• To work offline, this page downloads about 20 MB of free fonts from this site in the background on your first visit. Before that, fonts are fetched one by one when a file needs them, so our server can see which fonts were asked for. It never sees your files.
